


FOR STEAMED BREADFRUIT
Ingredients :
One breadfruit
salt to taste
water
Tomato sauce/ chili sauce/ coriander chutney
Procedures :
1.Wash a whole breadfruit.
2.Cut into halves and peel off the green skin of the breadfruit.
3.Cut the breadfruit into slices
4.Put all slices in pressure cooker
5.Add water and salt then close the cooker
6.The whistle blows in some time
7.Remove from stove and strain the breadfruit from the water
8.Serve hot with ketchup or chilli sauce or coriander chutney
FOR BREADFRUIT FRITTERS

Ingredients :
Ingredients :
2 cups of chickpea flour
1 cup of self raising flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 pinch of yellow food colour
salt
uncooked raw breadfruit slices
Procedures:
For the dough –
1.In a bowl, put 2 cups of chickpea flour that is sieved. Then add 1 cup of self raising flour. Add 1 tablespoon of baking powder and a pinch of yellow food colour. Whisk the mixture. Add water till a runny consistency is obtained. Add salt.
2. Have some breadfruit slices ready. Mix 1 slice of breadfruit slice in the chickpea flour batter.
3. Deep fry the breadfruit on both sides of breadfruit slice till golden brown. Remove from oil and place on cooking paper to absorb remaining oil.
4. Repeat same dipping in chickpea mixture and frying in oil procedures.
Serve hot with chutney and tea.
