Briani vegetarian

Ingredients :

1 cup rice

¼ bowl of biryani veg spices

1 pinch of yellow food colouring diluted in 1 cup of water

Salt

2-3 small potatoes

2-3 small onions

2 medium carrots

¼ kg green beans

¼ cup peas

2 cups of water for cooking

Procedures :

1.Wash and rinse white rice till clean.

2. 1 cup of rice will be half cooked with 2 cups of water.  But first we need to cook the vegetables.

3. Soak potatoes in yellow coloured water.

4. On medium heat, half fry the yellow potatoes, onions, carrots, peas and green beans.

5. In a pressure cooker, spread all the fried potatoes, carrots, green beans at the bottom. Add ¼ biryani veg powdered spices over the top of vegetables.

6. Add 2 cups of water to reach the top of vegetables.

7. Half cook the 1 cup rice separately.

8. Over the vegetables, add ½ of the rice. Put slightly yellow coloured water and  spinkle the yellow coloured water over the ½ cooked rice.

9. Add some fried onions and some peas over the rice.

10. Again add the other ½ of rice over the fried onions and peas. Sprinkle yellow  coloured water over the ½ cooked rice.

11. Again add some fried onions and some peas over the rice.

12. With a long stick, make a little hole inside the mixture so the biryani is cooked with steam.

13. Close the pressure cooker with lid. Wait for whistle. Check if the rice is cooked.
