Calamari crispy fried

Ingredients for above :

250g squid or 1 piece like above

1/2 tbsp of salt

1 egg

1 cup cornstarch ( Reserve some more)

1/2 tbsp garlic

oil for frying

Procedures :

1.Defrost the squid and when soft wash and rinse the squid.

2. On a chop board, open cut the squid like you open a book, and 3/4 cut the inside part making diagonals like in the picture. (should appear like crosses)

3. Then cut the squid into long thin slices.

4. In a large bowl, put the slices of squid. Add 1/2 tbsp salt, one beaten egg, 1 cup cornstarch, grated garlic 1/2 tbsp.

5. Mix and incorporate the marination.

6. Refrigerate the squid marination for one hour.

7. After one hour, remove squid from refrigerator.

8.In a frying pan, heat oil and allow to become hot.

9. Take each squid slice and roll in a bowl containing more cornstarch.

10. Repeat the process of frying and cook for a few minutes 3-4 mins.

11. Remove from heat and place squid on a plate over paper to absorb oil.

12. Serve hot with sauce or chili.

Calamari fried 2nd style with kentucky powder

Ingredients :

250 g calamari

1 cup flour

1/2 cup semolina

3-4 tbsp of kentucky powder

oil

salt

1 egg

Procedures :

  1. In a large plate, place 1 cup of sifted flour, 1/2 cup of semolina and 2-3 tablespoon of kentucky powder. You can add little salt.
  2. Have the squid defrosted, washed and cleaned. Then with a knife cut into long circles like in picture. Add salt to your taste.
  3. Beat an egg in a bowl.
  4. Heat oil in frying pan.
  5. When oil is hot, then take one circle of squid, roll the squid slice in egg then in the flour/semolina/kentucky powder mixture gently and fry. Repeat the process of cooking for 4 minutes till golden and crispy.
  6. Place the squid on paper over plate to absorb oil.
  7. Serve hot with chili or sauce.
