Idli recipe

Ingredients :

1 cup white rice

1/2 cup urad dhall

1 cup yogurt

salt

1/2 cup butter

Procedures:

1. Soak the rice and urad dhall overnight.

2. In the morning, drain the water using a strainer.

3.Add water to the rice and urad dhall mixture and grind to make a thick batter. Then add yogurt, salt and 1/2 cup butter. Mix again. Leave the batter for fermentation a whole day.

4. After waiting a whole day, mix the batter again gently. The batter should be thick but running consistence.

5. Butter idli moulds. Pour the batter in the moulds.

6. Steam the mixture for 15-20 minutes. The idlis should be fluffy.

7. Serve with coconut chutney, sambar or tomato chutney.
