Khaja

Ingredients :

250 g white flour

2 tablespoon ghee

A pinch of salt

80 ml water

Sugar syrup – 100g sugar + 4-5 cardamon + vanilla essence

Procedures :

  1. Put 250 g white flour that has been sifted in a large bowl.
  2. Add 2 tablespoon of ghee in the flour and rub ghee with flour.
  3. Add a pinch of salt.
  4. Add 80 ml more or less water so as to make a semi stiff dough.
  5. Once the dough is ready, make small round balls of same size approximately.
  6. With a rolling pin, flatten each small small in circular shape. Repeat the process.
  7. On each surface of the flattened dough, brush oil all over.
  8. Stick another flattened circular dough over the first dough, then on the surface of second dough brush oil, stick a third circular flattened dough over the second dough and repeat this process till thick.
  9. Now, roll all the circular dough together.
  10. Use a knife to cut vertically 2cm thickness of the dough.Cut several 2cms dough.
  11. Flatten each 2cm dough.
  12. Fry each khaja in deep oil.
  13. Spread icing sugar over the khajas after cooling or put the khajas in syrup.
