Lamb chop in tomato stew

Ingredients :

400 g lamb

2-3 onions

a can of tomato with puree and 2 whole tomatoes

1 potato

garlic ginger paste, paprika powder

coriander powder, yogurt, soy sauce

some water

oil for frying

salt

Procedures :

  1. Wash thoroughly for a few times the lamb chop.
  2. Remove the white fat part and reserve the meat flesh only.
  3. Wash the meat pieces till no blood is found.
  4. Dice 1 onion and reserve.
  5. Dice 1 potato and reserve.
  6. Dice tomatoes from a can of tomatoand reserve.
  7. Season the meat pieces with tbsp plain yogurt, 1 tbsp ginger/garlic paste, paprika powder, coriander powder, salt and drop of soy sauce. Marinate and leave to rest for more than 1 hour.
  8. Open a can of tomato having the puree sauce and whole tomatoes.
  9. In a pressure cooker add 4-5 tablespoon of oil. Heat it.
  10. Fry the meat in the hot oil till it changes colour. 10-15 minutes
  11. Now add onions and fry along with the meat. 2 minutes
  12. Add tomatoes that has been diced.
  13. Add the puree tomato and 1 cup of water to have tomato sauce. Cook again for some minutes till tomatoes soften.
  14. Add the diced potatoes in the meat sauce. Mix.
  15. Now close the lid of the pressure cooker and allow meat to cook till whistle blows for a few times.
  16. Duration of all this cooking process – 40 minutes approx
  17. Serve meat in tomato stew with rice and salad!
