Poutou

FOR MAKING 5 POUTOU APPROXIMATELY

Ingredients :

125g of ground rice

25 g coconut powder

50 g white sugar

1 tbspoon baking powder

125 ml water

125 ml coconut milk

1 tablespoon Vanilla essence

2-3 tablespoon butter

Procedures :

1. In a bowl, sift 125 g of ground flour.

2. Add 25g of coconut powder in the ground rice.

3. Add 50 g white sugar or icing sugar.

4. Add 1 tablespoon of baking powder.

5. Mix all dry ingredients in the bowl.

6. Add 125 ml water to the dry ingredients and give a mix.

7. Add 125 ml of coconut milk. Stir the batter.

8. The batter is quite thick of consistency.

9. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence. Stir.

10. Use butter to grease small rounded stainless steel bowls.

11. Pour poutou batter in those small rounded moulds. 3/4 fill it. The batter will increase in size so don’t fill bowl completely with batter.

12. Add water in a large pan as shown in picture. Place those small rounded bowls over the water.

13. Heat the water over medium flame. Cover pan with a lid.

14. Check cooking from time to time.

15. In 8-10 minutes, the poutou would be ready.
