Sauteed Brede malbar, amaranth leaves

Ingredients :

  1. One packet of amaranth leaves (brede malbar)
  2. Garlic pieces
  3. Onion slices
  4. 2-3 small tomatoes
  5. 1 dry red chili
  6. oil
  7. water for washing

Procedures :

  1. Remove by hands dry leaves, rotten ones.
  2. Wash them thoroughly or put to soak in vinegar. Then rinse.
  3. In a pan, add oil and heat.
  4. Fry garlic, onions in medium heat.
  5. Add all the amaranth leaves and cover with a lid. Allow to cook.
  6. No need to put water for cooking. As the leaves decrease in size, add tomatoes on top and cook again by closing the lid.
  7. Once leaves and tomatoes are cooked, remove brede malbar from heat. Serve with rice and curry.
