


Ingredients :
One whole octopus 500 g
water for boiling
2 mango leaves
salt (optional)
2-3 small onions
ginger/garlic paste
1 tomatoes
curry leaves
oil
Procedures :
1.Wash the whole of octopus thoroughly a few times at the start of the procedure. (Then no water would be added to the octopus after boiling process is over.)
2. In a large pressure cooker add water 3/4 level. Add 2 mango leaves and add some salt if needed because the octopus is already salty. Plunge the whole octopus in the pressure cooker of water and cook till boiling has reached and octopus is soft.
3. Remove the octopus from pressure cooker and strain the water.
4. Allow to cool and chop into a 1.0 cm thick dimension. You can peel off some of the dark coloured skin of octopus.
5. Have a one tablespoon of ginger garlic paste ready.
6. Wash and chop tomatoes into small parts.
7.Peel off onions and cut into slices.
8.Wash the curry leaves.
9. In a pan, heat 4-5 tablespoon of oil.
10. Sautee the ginger/garlic paste, curry leaves and onions on medium flame. Cook slowly.
11. Then put the octopus in oil and sautee it for a few minutes. Let it cook and cover the pan.
12. After the octopus has been sauteed add the tomato slices and allow to cook a few minutes more.
13. The sauteed octopus should be tender so check the cooking process by pricking, tasting.
14. Serve hot with bread, salad and sauce or even rice and vegetables.
