Semolina cake

Ingredients :

250g semolina

95g self raising flour

225 g unsalted butter

200g sugar

4 eggs

3 tbsp milk powder

1 tsp baking powder

2 tbsp crushed or powdered cardamon

pinch of jaffran

1/2 cup of liquid milk

sesame seeds

Procedures :

  1. In a bowl, add 225 g unsalted butter with 200 g sugar and beat with a hand held mixer till soft and you notice a change in colour.
  2. Add 1 egg and beat. Then repeat same with 3 more eggs. Beat again.
  3. Add 250g semolina, beat again.
  4. Add sifted 95g self raising flour, beat again.
  5. Add 3 tbs milk powder beat again.
  6. Add powdered cardamon. Beat again.
  7. Add few jaffran threads. Mix.
  8. Add baking powder.Beat again.
  9. Add 1/2 cup liquid milk. Mix.
  10. Now, butter a baking tray.
  11. Pour the batter in the tray
  12. Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top.
  13. Cover the baking tray with aluminium sheet.
  14. Bake the semolina cake 170 C for 50-60 minutes.
  15. Check with a wooden stick if the cake is cooked inside.
  16. After the cake has cooked, then demould.
  17. Serve semolina cake with tea!
