Taro fritters

Ingredients :

1 taro

4 slices of bread

water for soaking bread

1/2 tbsp salt

2 tbsp sugar

1/2 bowl of cornstarch

3 tbsp grated ginger

Procedures :

  1. In a pan of water, soak 4 slices of bread. Wait for 30 minutes. Then drain the water and squeeze the bread with a towel so as to remove any remaining water.
  2. In a plate prepare 3 tbsp of grated ginger, 2 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tbsp salt, 1/2 bowl of cornstarch and the dry bread.
  3. In another plate, have grated taro ready.
  4. Add ginger, salt, sugar, cornstarch and bread to the grated taro. Mix.
  5. Then make small round balls with the taro mixture.
  6. Heat oil in a pan.
  7. When the oil is hot, fry each taro over medium flame each taro fry for 4 minutes. Keep turning up and down to check the cooking.

Serve crunchy taro fritters with tomato chutney or chili sauce.
